This blog is designed to follow the travels of simple art cards around the world. The word unearthed, which contains the word art within it, means to discover (something hidden, lost, or kept secret) by investigation or searching. Synonyms include discover, uncover, find, come across, stumble upon, hit on, bring to light, turn up, and hunt out. I’m an artist who just wants to make art and share it with the world!
As time allows, I plan to make simple, inspirational art cards to be found. Who knows, I might get some friends to join in. I’ll post the newly released cards here along with a very general location. Each card will be handmade…none will be mass produced with a copier and they will include a number for tracking. This blog address will be included on the card so the finder may comment on the discovery if they choose.
The world needs more art. The world needs more inspiration. I’m going to do my part. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Let’s go look for adventure. You never know what you might find!
I found one of these cards at work today (October 27, 2014). I work at Old Navy at Lakeline Plaza in Cedar Park. I was folding some shirts on a table in our boy’s department and found one of these cards laying under the stack of clothes. I seriously love this kind of stuff and have been showing people all evening. The one I found reads “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. -Langston Hughes”

I found one back in November in an At Home store inCedar Park, TX with the same Langston Hughes quote. I still have it and I plan to pass it on later this year. I need it as a reminder still, to pursue my dreams 🙂

I still have A249 that I found in 2014. It has given me such inspiration that it is a part of my daily meditation. Thank you! “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.” (Langston Hughes)

I work at a Michaels store in Cedar Park, TX and found one of these cards while cleaning today. It means a lot to have seen something like this, and is very inspiring. I’ll pass it on after holding onto it for a bit.

Found the card with the same Langston Hughes quote by the cucumbers at my local H-E-B in San Antonio, Texas. It put a smile on my face when I needed it the most! I plan to pass it on! Thank you.

Found “Learn from your history, but do not live in it.” at the Target @ 1890 Ranch on the aisle of coffee. Loved it. It’s hanging in my office. I miss finding art just out and about like I did in N.O.

Sorry for the delayed reply. LIfe has been a bit of a struggle lately. Thank you so much for letting me know! I’m glad you like it. I was actually in N.O. for the New Year and dropped a bunch of them around town while I was there!

I wish I had replied to you sooner…better late than never though. The months following the cruise were rough for me with health issues, surgery and depression. But, I’m here now and so grateful that you found some of my cards and took the time to comment. I’m glad that you enjoyed them. Peace!
